Job Title: Senior Assistant Director of Admission, Job Class: Administrative, Reports to: Executive Director of Admission, FLSA status: Full-time/Exempt/12-months SUMMARY: Under direction of the Executive Director of Admission, provides leadership and supervision, and staff training while overseeing day to day operations of the Traditional Undergraduate Office of Admission. Otterbein will work with its own campus community as well as the Columbus City and Westerville City school districts to create positive narrative change about race; promote racial healing activities; and erase structural barriers to equity and opportunity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 60% - Supervises staff and operations; hires, trains, supervises and evaluates assigned staff in the Traditional Undergraduate Office of Admission; manages staff work flow; develops and implements strategic recruitment and planning initiatives; coordinates recruitment activities; implements a performance management process with staff that includes annual goal setting, coaching and evaluation; trains team in areas such as financial aid, application reading process, customer service, and CRM management; oversees the day to day operations of the Traditional Undergraduate Office of Admission; supports First Time Freshman recruitment budgets; approves recruitment calendar; approves travel expenses for off-campus recruitment events and professional development; provides guidance for all Traditional Undergraduate recruitment fairs, admissions events, and educational fairs; provides oversight to daily visit program and targeted recruitment events;; acts as liaison between the Coordinator Liaison’s, Marketing and Communication, and Enrollment Services; 25% -Directs Recruitment Strategy of Otterbein Advantage Partnership Program; Leads recruitment efforts and acts as liaison for all eligible Advantage Partner Organizations. As liaison works closely with Advantage Partner liaison to promote program and scholarship to recruit, process and enroll students interested in Otterbein. Serves as liaison between Otterbein Marketing and Communications to coordinate and develop marketing assets to promote within Advantage Partners Organizations such as electronic messages, website material and co-branded brochures, flyers and posters. Coordinates both on and off campus visit opportunities for Advantage Partner Organizations. Develops communication flows directly related to the Advantage Partnership Scholarship. 10% - Advantage Partnership Territory Manager; presents and discusses admission requirements with students, parents and visitors to the campus seeking information and assistance; acts as counselor of the day or back-up; gives individual, small and large group presentations; follows up on general inquiries from student, parents and high school counselors relative to general information about the University; reviews and is responsible for management of admission applications to determine eligibility for admission; makes admissions decisions; recommends students for academic support. 5% - Other Duties as Assigned; Serves on campus-wide committees as assigned; maintains strong relationships within and without the University community; serves for Executive Director of Admission as required; other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Will directly supervise at least two professional staff members and oversee six other professional staff members, along with volunteers and student employees participating in recruitment activities. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, Minimum 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in University Admission, including 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience required. Must have ability and willingness to travel. Understanding of the university admission process desired. Must have strong customer service skills and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Competency in oral and written English (including proper English grammar). Competency in basic math. Must possess the ability to use general office equipment including office PC. Must be able to travel extensively throughout the state of Ohio with particular emphasis in one geographic area with some travel out-of-state; must be able to spend prolonged periods of time working out of an office PC; [must be able to see to process work that the position is responsible for completing;] must be able to work under deadlines and with interruptions. Must be able to meet regular and predictable attendance standards.
