The Office of University Marketing and Communications is seeking an Associate Vice President of Public Relations (AVP). This position is responsible for the development of a proactive media program that amplifies the research and impact of the University, and fosters positive relationships with key stakeholders. The Associate Vice President of Public Relations (AVP) leads a small team of professional communicators and works collaboratively with senior leaders to advance the university's public relations objectives. In addition, this role develops the issue management framework and leads response planning and execution. The ideal candidate for the Associate Vice President of Public Relations (AVP) will bring over 10 years of senior-level extensive media relations experience in marketing or a related field. This individual will exemplify team-player and collaborative skill sets, possess sophisticated thinking abilities and have the highest levels of proficiency and experience in issues management and crisis communications. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable working in a fast paced, matrixed environment. Experience in higher education systems and infrastructure is highly desired/preferred. Candidates will also need to demonstrate their ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information, as this is a requirement.
